GRAVITAŢIA DISPĂRUSE

Gravitaţia dispăruse de multă vreme,
Lucrurile cădeau din ce în ce mai sus,
Oamenii ajunşi pe alte orbite
Strigau cît puteau ce aveau de spus.

Cei rămaşi pe loc, se ţineau fiecare
De cîte un copac foarte gros
Şi-n liniştea în care aşteptau
Totul era cu capul în jos.

Dacă s-ar fi putut aduna într-o piatră,
Dacă şi-ar fi dat cineva foc,
Poate că unul dintre cei desprinşi de ai lor
Ar fi reuşit să cadă la loc

Pe pămîntul de care s-a-ndepărtat
Odată cu neobişnuita rotaţie
Şi poate că s-ar fi ajuns din nou
La gravitaţie.

Şi toate căderile ar fi fost în jos
Şi toate înalturile ar fi venit de la sine,
Dar nimeni n-avea curaj să se mai desprindă
De copacul de care se ţine.




LA GRAVITA ERA SPARITA

La gravita era sparita molto tempo fa,
Le cose cadevano sempre piu in alto,
La gente giunta su altre orbite
Gridava forte quello che aveva da dire.

Quelli rimasti sulla terra, si tenevano ciascuno
Di un albero molto grosso
E nel silenzio nel quale aspettavano
Tutto era sotto sopra.

Se uno avvesse potuto radunarsi in una pietra
Se uno avesse  bruciato
Forse che uno di quei distaccati
Avesse potuto cader indietro

Sulla terra da quale si aveva allontanato
Insieme all'insolita rotazione
E forse la gravita avesse
Cominciasse ancora.

E tutte le cadute fossero in giu
E tutti I sollevamenti accadessero da se,
Ma nesssuno aveva piu coraggio a distaccarsi
Dall'albero del quale si teneva.




THE GRAVITY HAD DISAPPEARED

The gravity had disappeared long ago,
The things were falling higher and higher,
The people arrived on others orbits
Were shouting louder and louder what they wanted to say.

Those remained on the earth were
Holding themselves by a thick tree
And in the silence in which they were waiting
All was upside down.

If one could gather himself in a stone
If one set himself on fire
Maybe one of those torn away
Would succeed to fall back

On the earth from which he has moved away
Together with the unusual rotation
And  maybe the gravity
Would occurred again.

And all the fallings would be down
And all the raisings would come by themselves,
But nobody had the courage to tear himself away
From the tree by which he hold.
